STATE LEVEL TRAINING PROGRAMME ON OYSTER MUSHROOM CULTIVATON
Directorate of Agriculture under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) conducted a One day State Level Training Programme on Oyster Mushroom Cultivation on 16/06/2022 at Old Goa. The programme was also assisted by M/s. Vana Shrubs Pvt Ltd., a Research and Development Company on mushrooms and fungi based in Mapusa Goa.
Shri. ShivdasGaonkar, ADA(FT), Chief Guest for the function inaugurated the function by lighting of the traditional lamp. He gave a detailed insight on mushroom cultivation and discussed on the need of the hour for mushroom growers in Goa. He inspired the participants to take Oyster mushroom cultivation in Goa and take this activity as a profession. He explained the vast scope to the growers that is available today and the readily available market today in Goa, which is meet by the business persons from neighbouring states.
Shri Kishore Bhave, Project Director (ATMA), North who took all efforts in conducting this training gave details of various Government schemes that can be available to prospective growers. The programe was compared by Mrs. Vismita S Marathe, Dy. Director (ATMA), North and Block Technology Managers and Assistant Technology Managers from North Goa of the Dte of Agriculture.
Shri YashwantGawas, Assistant Agriculture Officer, ADA-FT, presented a Power point presentation shown on various species of Oyster Mushroom and its growing techniques.
The programme was assisted by Shri Shivanand C Volvoikar, Managing Director, Vana Shrubs Pvt Ltd. Who demonstrated live Oyster Mushroom cultivation process with hands on training to the participants. The participants were given “Home Growing Mushroom Kits” and a pack of freshly harvested mushrooms, which were specially designed for the participants by M/s. Vana Shrubs Pvt.Ltd.
Nearly 25 participants attended the programme from North Goa on prior registration, of which a couple of enthusiastic participants have decided to start Oyster Mushroom cultivation on commercial basis.
Shri. Shivanand C Volvoikar on behalf of their company has offered to give free consultancy on set-up and also assured buy back option on reciprocal basis.
